Prime Minister Shinzo Abe is expected to go to Brunei, Cambodia and Laos — the three ASEAN nations he has yet to visit since taking office — before a special summit in December in Tokyo between Japan and the 10-member Association of Southeast Asian Nations, officials said Wednesday.

Abe is slated to visit Brunei next week for an annual summit with ASEAN leaders, and will also visit Cambodia and Laos by the end of the year, Deputy Chief Cabinet Secretary Hiroshige Seko said.

The government is making arrangements for Abe to visit Cambodia and Laos in mid-October, an official said.
