Mitsubishi Electric Corp. says it has won an order for high-speed elevators in a new high-rise commercial complex in Thailand.
The MahaNakhon complex in Bangkok will be completed in 2015. It consists of a 77-story hotel and luxury residential building that will be the tallest in Thailand, and a low-rise commercial building, Mitsubishi Electric said Thursday.
The company will install 38 elevators, including seven high-speed models that can move at about 29 kph, in the complex in the Silom business district.
Mitsubishi Electric will build the elevators both at domestic and Thai plants. The value of the deal was not disclosed.
Two of the seven high-speed elevators will carry passengers from the ground to the 69th floor within a minute, the company said.
