Spanish police on Tuesday arrested a former JPMorgan bank trader wanted by the United States to face criminal charges in the massive “London Whale” fraud scandal.

Officers arrested Spanish national Javier Martin-Artajo Rueda on an international warrant by the United States for alleged fraud and tax crimes, police said.

He is accused of being the senior figure in the 2012 trading scandal involving $6.2 billion in trading losses at the U.S. banking giant.
