McDonald’s will be offering a series of three premium Quarter Pounder Jewelry hamburgers for ¥1,000, each for only one day.
The Gold Ring, with pineapple, a thick slab of bacon flavored with barbecue sauce and Monterey Jack cheese, will be sold Saturday at outlets nationwide, McDonald’s Co. (Japan) Ltd. said Tuesday.
On July 13, customers can try the Black Diamond, featuring a sauce that includes truffles, a slice of Emmenthal cheese, grilled mushrooms and onions.
The July 20 menu will feature the Ruby Spark, made with an original chorizo recipe as well as avocado and pepper jack cheese.
Like other Quarter Pounders, the three premium burgers contain a quarter-pound of beef, 2.5 times that of the regular burgers.
The number of special burgers will be capped at 300,000 on each of the three days.
McDonald’s Japan President and CEO Eiko Harada stressed that the Quarter Pounder Jewelry series will be exclusive to Japan.
