Diamond-studded Licca-chan doll to go on display

A special Licca-chan doll, decorated with ¥100 million worth of diamonds, will be displayed at the Doll Exhibition at Saga Prefectural Museum in the city of Saga from July 20 to Sept. 16.

The Fancy Diamond Licca-chan, the luxury version of the popular Licca-chan doll by Takara Tomy, comes in a crimson gown and a tiara that are decorated with 881 diamonds, or 51.4 carats in total. The doll, which is not for sale, was released in 2002 to commemorate Licca-chan’s 35th anniversary.
