Four members of a Russian extremist group were detained Wednesday by police for intruding onto the premises of the Japanese Embassy in Moscow, local police officials said.

The four members of the group, the Other Russia, went to the embassy and two climbed over its fence, the police and embassy officials said.

A representative said they went to the embassy to distribute leaflets in protest of negotiations by the Japanese and Russian governments over a group of four Russian-held islands off Hokkaido.
