Tropical storm drenches Florida

Tropical storm Andrea dumped heavy rains on Florida on Thursday and threatened to bring high winds and rough seas to much of the East Coast after earlier tearing across western Cuba.

The storm could whip up tornadoes in central and southern Florida, the National Hurricane Center said.

At least six possible tornadoes were reported in Florida. Lacey Mitten said she and her two children took cover in a bathtub as a possible tornado damaged her home in Miami.
