Police were looking for two men Friday who allegedly robbed a 77-year-old woman of nearly ¥10 million after she was lured to Yanaka Cemetery in Taito Ward, Tokyo, on the pretense of bringing cash to help her son out of a jam the previous day.

Metropolitan Police Department investigators at the Shitaya police station said the woman, a resident of Matsudo, Chiba Prefecture, received a call from a man claiming to be her son Thursday morning.

As instructed by the caller, the woman, with the cash in her bag, went to Yanaka Cemetery around 3 p.m. Thursday. A man in a suit who looked to be in his 40s approached her and as they were walking, another man came from behind and snatched her bag. Both men then ran off, police quoted the victim as saying.
