Narita International Airport's operator plans to acquire a tract of land near a planned terminal for low-cost carriers, sources said Friday.
Narita International Airport Corp. aims to complete work on the terminal building in fiscal 2014, which ends in March 2015. The airport has already briefed residents and landowners in Narita, Chiba Prefecture, about the land acquisition plan, the sources said.
The operator plans to use the land for parking vehicles that support the operation of aircraft, they said.
