David Lipton, first deputy managing director of the International Monetary Fund, will visit Japan early in February, IMF spokesman Gerry Rice said Thursday.
Lipton, the IMF's No. 2 man, will attend informal talks among central bankers and others Monday and Tuesday. He is also expected to meet with government officials.
