NEW DELHI – Two of the five men accused of gang-raping and murdering a 23-year-old woman in a moving bus in New Delhi last month will plead not guilty, their lawyer said.
“They will plead not guilty to all charges,” M.L. Sharma, who said he represents Mukesh Singh and Akshay Thakur, said Tuesday. “Nothing has been proven yet.”
Singh, the brother of the alleged bus driver, who is also being charged over the crime, and Thakur, a laborer, are two of the five men charged with the Dec. 16 rape and murder of the young student.
