NEW YORK – The New York Times Co. plans to sell Indeed Inc., an affiliate that runs a job information website, to Recruit Co., a document submitted to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission said Tuesday.
The major Japanese job information and staffing company will fully acquire Indeed in early October, the SEC document said.
The leading U.S. newspaper will log $100 million in after-tax profits from the sale.
Indeed, founded in 2004, operates job information websites in over 50 countries in 26 languages. They attract some 80 million visits per month.
