WASHINGTON – The U.S. International Trade Commission said it will begin an investigation of 13 wireless consumer electronics makers and their affiliates for possible patent infringement.
The 13 makers include Kyocera Corp. and Nintendo Co. as well as Samsung Electronics Co. and LG Electronics Inc. of South Korea.
The investigation is based on a complaint filed by U.S. property management firm Technology Properties Ltd. and two other U.S. firms, the trade commission said Tuesday.
They filed a claim in late July for an import ban on affected products, including smartphones, tablet computers and portable game consoles.
