NAGOYA – Mitsubishi Aircraft Corp. says it has reached a basic agreement to supply 100 of its Mitsubishi Regional Jets to SkyWest Airlines.
The unit of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd. and the U.S. airline are expected to seal the deal in the next few weeks. Delivery of the aircraft will begin in 2017 and is expected to be completed by 2020.
Mitsubishi Aircraft has already received orders for 130 MRJs from All Nippon Airways and two other carriers. The MRJ is the first small passenger jet developed in Japan.
