Dentsu Inc., Japan’s largest advertising agency, said Wednesday it has sealed a deal to acquire digital ad agency Lov Interactive Communications to accelerate its growth strategy in Brazil.
With Brazil set to host the 2014 World Cup soccer finals and the 2016 Summer Olympic Games, demand for Internet ads in the world’s sixth-largest advertising market has been on the rise, Dentsu said.
Dentsu said it aims to use the acquisition to expand its clientele in South America, targeting both Japanese and local firms there.
San Paulo-based Lov, founded in 1999, logged a gross operating profit of 6.87 million reals ($3.9 million) in 2010, according to Dentsu.
