Actor Watanabe set to attend Davos

Kyodo

Actor Ken Watanabe will attend the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, on Jan. 25 to give a speech on the March earthquake and tsunami disaster in northeastern Japan, his office said Monday.

Watanabe, 52, was invited because he has been working for international social contributions through his website kizuna311 to assist victims of the March 11 earthquake and the subsequent nuclear crisis, the office said. The word “kizuna” means bond or link.
