Toshiba Corp. said Saturday that personal information related to up to 7,520 people may have been leaked from the customer database of its U.S. sales company due to fraudulent access.

The electronics firm said Toshiba America Information Systems Inc. learned of the fraudulent access on July 11 and stopped its computer server for customers of its mobile music players in the United States. The U.S. unit has notified those possibly affected by the data leak.

Credit card information is not believed to have been leaked, the company said. The data server contained information such as customer names, addresses and telephone numbers. The email addresses and passwords of 681 customers were leaked.
