Regular international flights, including to and from the United States and Europe, will go into service at Tokyo’s Haneda airport on Oct. 31, transport minister Seiji Maehara said Friday.

International traffic at Haneda is currently limited to short-distance chartered services to and from South Korea and China.

Following the expansion, regular flights will connect the Tokyo airport with South Korea, Hong Kong and Taiwan during the daytime and with Southeast Asia, the United States, Canada and European cities in the early morning and late evening.
