The Japan Association of Classical Music Presenters will hold a charity concert in Tokyo next month to help support survivors of the Indian Ocean rim tsunamis triggered by the Dec. 26 earthquake off Indonesia's Sumatra Island.
Participants, including conductor Seiji Ozawa, soprano Shinobu Sato and tenor Ken Nishikiori, are expected to perform several pieces, including Bach's Air on G String and Schubert's Ave Maria.
The concert will be held at 7 p.m. on Feb. 21 at the Tokyo International Forum's A Hall in Chiyoda Ward. Admission is 2,000 yen. All ticket sale proceeds will be donated to UNICEF. Donation boxes will also be set up at the venue.
