Noisy activists and girl-harassing scouts are not the only pests in Shibuya's Hachiko square. The presence of another rapidly flourishing group at this popular meeting place is about as welcome as the plague.
The famous inner-city square is today becoming a haven for rats.
The number of brown rats, or sewer rats, running rampant around Hachiko has reportedly rocketed in recent months. Rodents can be spotted around the square even during daylight hours.
