Chip burgers and burger chips hit convenience stores

by

Special To The Japan Times

Fast-food chain Lotteria is currently selling a limited-edition burger containing a handful of Calbee potato chips placed on top of the meat patty. For those not ready to sink their teeth into that crunchy creation, Lotteria and Calbee have also teamed up on a special chip that tastes like Lotteria’s Zeppin Cheeseburger.

Out of the bag, the flavoring on these chips can be weirdly distributed — some are super-peppery, others pack very little punch. But when you bite into a properly flavored one, it strikes a perfect balance between peppery beef and greasy cheese. And they’re easier to eat than a burger stuffed with chips.

The headline (“Chip burgers and burger chips hit convenience stores”) suggests that both the Lotteria “chip burgers” and the Calbee burger-flavored chips are being sold at convenience stores. Is that right?
