Art fair at Hotel Granvia Osaka

The Hotel Granvia Osaka will be offering a unique accommodation plan that includes tickets to the Art Osaka 2015 fair on July 4 and 5. The fair will take place on the hotel’s entire 26th floor, and visitors can savor the unique experience of enjoying the art in the hotel’s guest rooms.

Launched in 2002, the annual event is one of the leading contemporary art fairs in Japan. The hotel has hosted it every year since 2011, attracting 3,700 people last year.

More than 500 pieces by both emerging and renowned artists from 53 galleries — both in Japan and overseas — will be on display this year, including paintings, sculptures, prints and photographs.

The plan includes a night’s stay with a ticket, original cocktail, art fair goods and a gallery guidebook.

It is available from July 3 to 5 for one night in a single room from ¥11,400, and in the “Nagomi” twin room on the 25th floor from ¥11,500 for one person, including tax and service fees.

Summer BBQ at Hilton Tokyo Narita

Hilton Tokyo Narita Airport will host its annual all-you-can-eat-and-drink Summer Garden Barbecue featuring wagyu Japanese beef from July 10 through Sept. 6.

The food menu includes barbecue staples such as wagyu and U.S. beef, Italian pork, shrimp, scallops and vegetables, as well as various buffet items and desserts.

In addition to beer, cocktails and soft drinks, “Cajutta” fresh juice is served in a whole grapefruit or orange.

The garden barbeque will take place on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from July 10 through the end of July and on Sept. 4, 5 and 6. In August, it will be available Thursday through Sunday.

Prices are ¥5,800 for adults (¥6,300 at the door; with discounted tickets available for ¥5,500 for July 10 to 12, Aug. 30 and Sept. 4 to 6) and ¥2,800 for elementary and junior high school students (¥3,200 at the door).

Fine French fare at Cerulean Tower

Commemorating its 14th anniversary, The Cerulean Tower Tokyu Hotel will hold “The Five Senses” gastronomic event on July 13 in its ballroom, featuring star chefs from Japan and France.

The event will offer a one-time, full-course French dinner by the hotel’s executive chef Nobuhiko Fukuda and a dessert created by pastry chef Laurent Jeannin from the prestigious Hotel Le Bristol Paris.

The two chefs have been friends since Fukuda’s overseas apprenticeship in France, and Jeannin has collaborated with the Cerulian Tower Tokyu Hotel since 2002.

At the upcoming event, the two chefs will entertain guests with an innovative, colorful and dramatic dinner program that will surely excite all five senses.

The event starts at 7 p.m. (doors open at 6:30 p.m.) and is ¥23,000 per person (including all-you-can-drink, as well as tax and service charge). Dress code is smart casual with jackets for men. Reservations and prepayment through bank transfer are required.
