Translation

A 16-year-old girl who was arrested for allegedly killing and dismembering a high school classmate in Nagasaki Prefecture has admitted to planning the murder, investigative sources disclosed on July 29. The girl, whose name is being withheld because she is a minor, told police she had invited her classmate to meet her and taken her to her apartment on July 26 “as I planned to kill her,” according to the sources. The body of 15-year-old Aiwa Matsuo, a first-year student at a high school in the city of Sasebo, was found in the suspect’s apartment with her head and left hand severed, according to the sources. The suspect lived alone in the apartment. The suspect has said she “wanted to kill someone,” and “wanted to dissect a dead body,” the investigative sources said. Police said an autopsy seemed to indicate the suspect beat Matsuo with a hammer before strangling her and then severing her body parts with a saw.
