Translation

Toyota Motor Corp. announced on the 2nd that its special-edition pink Crown, a high-class sedan put on sale only for September, had received 650 orders. Its customers are on the whole younger than those who purchase ordinary Crowns, and include more women. Sales of ordinary Crowns are, on average, 6,700 per month, so the figure amounts to 10 percent. A breakdown of the customers shows that women account for 35 percent, by far surpassing the 7 percent for ordinary Crowns. By age, 40 percent of customers are in their 30s and 40s; they are younger when compared with the 20 percent who bought ordinary Crowns. Pink Crowns were produced for the first time since the car debuted in 1955. Toyota produced the new-colored car for a sales campaign, which turned out to be so well received it decided to take orders just for one month in September.
