Dine on sushi in the open Tokyo air
In celebrating its ninth anniversary, the Grand Hyatt Tokyo in the Roppongi area has opened an outside terrace dining area at its sushi restaurant, Roku Roku, located on the sixth floor.
The hotel says that this feature makes it the first luxury hotel in Tokyo to have a sushi restaurant with outdoor terrace seating, a reminiscence of the Edo Period when sushi was served at outdoor food stalls.
The terrace seating area will offer sushi and Japanese dishes encompassing contemporary flair, with seasonal cuisine such as lobster Caesar salad, sake lees dip with vegetables and special terrace futomaki (thick sushi rolls). Lightly grilled dishes are also available a la carte from ¥800.
As an opening promotion for August, a bottle of premium Louis Roederer Cristal Champagne, usually ¥55,000, will be available for ¥20,000 to guests who book a seat in the terrace area. Also, guests who are dressed in yukata (informal cotton kimono) will receive a complimentary glass of Champagne and a sparkler, a summertime tradition.
The Grand Hyatt Tokyo is about a 3-minute walk from Roppongi Station on the Tokyo Metro Hibiya and Toei Oedo lines. For more information, visit www.restaurants.tokyo.grand.hyatt.com.
