The Hyatt Regency Tokyo in Shinjuku is offering a special Summer Stay accommodation plan, through Sept. 30.
As the name suggests, the plan offers various features suitable for the summer holidays. For instance, guests can use the hotel’s pool and fitness facility as well as its parking lot at no extra charge. Also, the plan comes with discounts of 10 percent at the hotel’s restaurants (except some special menus) and for treatment courses that are longer than 60 minutes at the hotel’s Joule Spa and Wellness.
Also, children under 12 years old stay free with an adult, and if an extra bed is necessary for a child, it will be provided at no additional cost.
The plan is available from ¥11,550 per person for double occupancy, including breakfast, tax and a service charge, but subject to the Tokyo accommodation tax.

Group dining plan over Shinjuku
The Hotel Century Southern Tower in Shinjuku is offering a special summer dinner plan through Aug. 31 at its French-inspired restaurant, Tribeks, located on the hotel’s 20th floor.
The plan is for a group of three to 18 people, and offers a variety of dishes for sharing, along with some individual dishes. Menu items include summer rolls with shrimp and avocado, lasagna, seasonal salad, cold soup of the day and dessert.
The plan is convenient for a group dinner such as social parties, company events or just a night out with family to beat the summer heat. Guests can enjoy the meals with splendid views of Tokyo from 100 meters high.
The dinner is available from 5:30-10 p.m. at ¥4,000 per person, and at ¥6,000 with an all-you-can-drink plan, which is available for 90 minutes. Prices include tax and a service charge.
Reservations are required by the morning before the desired date.

Award-winning chef’s cakes on sale
The Grand Hyatt Tokyo’s pastry sous-chef, Masaki Okazaki, was on the team that won the Mondial des Arts Sucres 2012, held March 3-6 in Paris. In honor of the achievement, the hotel is offering his winning pastries.
The Mondial des Arts Sucres is known as one of the world’s most important competitions for the art of pastry making. This year, 16 national teams, each composed of one male and one female chef, battled in a four-day contest. Okazaki (hand raised in top photo) teamed with Reiko Imo from the patisserie a tes souhaits in the Kichijoji area of Tokyo.
Originally from Hiroshima, Okazaki joined the hotel’s pastry department in 2003, creating sweets for the hotel’s Fiorentina Pastry Boutique as well as desserts for the hotel’s restaurants.
At the boutique, customers can purchase Okazaki’s cakes offered at the contest (clockwise from top of above photo): the pistachio mousse cake Lumiere, the tropical fruit-flavored cheesecake Soleil and the orange chocolate cake Cirque. Each is available at ¥650.
