The Hotel New Otani Tokyo’s Maguro Matsuri (Tuna Festival) at its View & Dining The Sky establishment offers diners a buffet meal of various cuisines using fresh tuna from Tsukiji market.
For the event, which runs through Feb. 28, the restaurant’s chefs are offering a variety of original dishes, including Japanese-style skewered tuna cooked to your taste, tuna carpaccio with balsamic vinegar, sauteed tuna and winter vegetables with oyster sauce, tuna teppanyaki with ginger sauce and sushi of marinated tuna.
Located on the 17th floor, The Sky gives diners a 360-degree view. On Fridays and Saturdays from 6 p.m. during the festival, a ten-nen maguro no kaitai show allows guests to see a professional chef cut up a whole tuna.
Lunch is available from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. for ¥5,250 per person, dinner from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. for ¥8,400 per person (service charges are not included).

Lunch plan in a Royal tea room
The Royal Park Hotel in Tokyo offers a lunch plan at its tea room, Kountei, within Japanese restaurant Genjikoh on the fifth floor.
Surrounded by a Japanese garden full of flowers and trees, Kountei was designed to provide guests with a peaceful moment to experience a Japanese tea ceremony.
The special lunch menu includes an appetizer anda two-tiered lunch box with seasonal dishes. Lunch is available from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on weekdays (except holidays) for ¥40,000 for two people and ¥7,500 per additional guest. Reservations can be made for up to four people and must be made two days in advance.
The price includes lunch, use of the tea room, service charges and tax. A ceremonial tea service is also available after lunch for ¥2,000 per person upon request.

Piedmontese dinner in Tokyo
On Feb. 26, the Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo at Marunouchi will hold a cocktail reception and dinner event at its restaurant ekki Bar & Grill with Italian chef Davide Palluda and the Langa In wine group from Piedmont, Italy.
Chef Palluda owns the Michelin-starred restaurant all’Enoteca in Canale, a city in the Piedmont region, which is known for great white truffles and wines and as a place gastronomists and wine lovers yearn to visit. Langa In is a group of 19 wine companies that produce the renowned Barolo, Barbaresco, Moscato and Roero wines.
The evening begins with a cocktail reception at 6:30 p.m., followed by a seven-course dinner with wine pairings from 7 p.m.
The special dishes created by chef Palluda include a choice of appetizer (sauteed green asparagus, Roccaverano cheese mousse, hazelnuts and black truffles or thinly sliced roast veal and tuna sauce), a risotto with Piedmontese chicken, a choice of main dish (vanilla-flavored braised beef or crispy sauteed pigeon) and dessert. The event costs ¥15,000 per person, which includes tax but not service charges.
From Feb. 27 to March 24, the restaurant will offer the chef’s dishes and Langa In wines in its dinner menu.
