Mediterranean restaurant Cafe Tosca at The Pan Pacific Yokohama Bay Hotel Tokyu is featuring foods from Fukui Prefecture at a “Tasty, Healthy, Fukui!” dinner-buffet fair.
Fukui is known for the quality and wide variety of seafood pulled from Wakasa Bay — where warm and cold currents meet, diversifying marine life — and the calm waters of its deep coastal inlets.
As well as fresh seafood delivered directly from the prefecture, Fukui pork, which is gaining popularity as a local specialty, will be cut and cooked in front of diners in an “Action Stage” corner.
The fair, which is supported by Fukui Prefecture, runs through March 19, between 5:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. Prices for adults are ¥4,700 on weekdays and ¥5,600 on weekends and holidays; children aged 6 to 12 eat for ¥2,800.

Hilton Odawara Swiss fair
The Hilton Odawara Resort & Spa, located in the foothills of the Hakone Mountains in Kanagawa Prefecture, is offering Swiss Food Fair buffets at Brasserie Flora.
The spread is made up of around 40 dishes, including Swiss local specialties and desserts as well as dishes that use seasonal vegetables from Hakone and seafood.
Among the Swiss dishes are air-dried Swiss ham salad with sliced Gruyere cheese; rosti (potato pancake); stewed liver slices in a classic dairy-cream and white-wine sauce; pizokel (traditional Basel pasta); and the hotel’s original cheese fondue, for which three types of cheese are melted with white wine and sauerkraut. There are Swiss sweets such as Emmenthal cheesecakes and Basler Lackerli, spiced honey biscuits from Basel.
The lunch buffet (11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.) costs ¥3,255 per adult on weekdays and ¥3,655 on weekends and holidays (¥1,596 and ¥1,828 for children, respectively), and the dinner buffet (5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.) is ¥5,775 per adult (¥2,835 for children).
During the fair, Flora is also offering a seven-dish dinner course featuring traditional Swiss items with a modern touch for ¥11,550. The fair runs through Feb. 28.

Belgian beer, food ‘marriage’
Antwerp Central restaurant near Tokyo Station is the venue for the fourth Belgian Beer Marriage Dinner on Feb. 22, from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The event is hosted by noted beer writer Hiroyuki Fujiwara, who will select Belgian ales to match dishes created by Antwerp Central master chef Kenichi Sumitomo. Dishes include shrimp and potato gratin, duck gizzard and mushroom fricassee, Flanders-style cod and crab stew, and Tarte Tartin.
The cost is ¥6,500 per person. The first part of the “marriage” was held Feb. 8.
