Royal Park anniversary courses
The Royal Park Hotel in Nihonbashi, Tokyo, will celebrate its 20th anniversary with special lunch and dinner courses at its French restaurant Palazzo, with Bruno Oger as the guest chef.
Oger, the chef at the Villa Des Lys, a two-Michelin-star restaurant at the exclusive hotel Majestic in Cannes, is a holder of the French government’s Chevalier, the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres (Order of Arts and Literature).
A special dinner course (¥21,000) will be available on Feb. 21-23 between 5:30 p.m. and 10 p.m., and a lunch course (¥8,400) on Feb. 22 between 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
There is a direct link to the hotel from Suitengu-mae Station on the Hanzomon Subway Line; it can also be reached by a five-minute walk from Ningyocho Station on the Asakusa Subway Line.

Nikko’s Cocoa curriculum
On Feb. 11 (Mon.), just in time for Valentine’s Day, the Hotel Nikko Tokyo is offering to teach you how to make a chocolate tart.
Rie Kakinuma, the hotel’s award-winning pastry chef who worked for four years at Patisserie Salon de The Goseki, a popular tart and cake shop in Tokyo’s Kichijoji, will be the instructor for the Premium Chocolate Lesson.
As well as making tarts, participants can learn how to shape chocolate into various forms and use sweets and fruit to decorate dishes.
Tarts can be taken home, or, if you have dinner at a hotel restaurant with someone afterward, the hotel will arrange for your masterpiece to be a surprise gift for your companion (reservations required three days in advance).
The lesson will take place between 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. at the Sunrise Terrace on the 3rd floor, and costs ¥4,000.
The Hotel Nikko Tokyo is adjacent to Daiba Station on the Yurikamome Line or a 10-minute walk from Tokyo Teleport Station on the Rinkai Line.

Chocolate dinner in Osaka
The exclusive French restaurant Chambord on the 29th floor of the Rihga Royal Hotel Osaka is preparing a Chocolate Dinner for Valentine’s Day and White Day.
Chambord chef Masatoshi Ota has come up with a fresh combination of traditional French ingredients and chocolate, including foie gras topped with roasted cacao beans, and lobster with chocolate and curry-flavored sauce. Various types of chocolate will be used throughout the course, from appetizers to desserts.
The event runs from Feb. 1 through March 31, excluding Feb. 8-10, 6 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., and the course meal costs ¥23,100 with tax and service.
The hotel is located at 5-3-68, Nakanoshima, Kita-ku, Osaka. There is a shuttle bus service from Osaka Station (every six minutes) and from Yodoyabashi Station (every 15 minutes).
