When I was a small boy, I always played with my friends in the neighboring mountainside. After enjoying my high school days to the fullest, I moved to Tokyo to work before I decided to study at a university. While studying, I had a small success in the import and sale of Hawaiian accessories, which led me to start a business in the apparel industry.
I left university to run the business, but it ended up in failure. From this failure, I realized that I had not understood what management was. Then I joined a consulting company, where I learned how my client executives managed their businesses. Then I moved to Livedoor Marketing, where I was in charge of promotion and marketing. There, I learned what kinds of business models would be successful and the following lessons: “Those who do something are rewarded” and “Speed is most important.”
In 2007, I started my new company. I am running my own business because I do not want to have regrets in my limited lifetime. In addition, I wanted to bounce back from the business misadventure in my younger days and from the loss of pride caused by an incident at my previous workplace.
I have worked in the Internet marketing field to serve a number of clients to help them maximize their profits. In 2010, I established Luxonia, starting a new business field. Initially, we spent a lot on marketing, as we were hoping to enter a new market and to collaborate with companies from China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and South Korea. We have hit a wall of differences in culture, business mind-set and language. Now we can move along the same vector based on mutual understanding as human beings and businesspeople.
My goal is to become a pioneer from Japan in developing Asian culture and economy. First, I would like to contribute to Japan’s restoration by providing lighting fixtures through our LED business.
