The traditional Japanese summer brings to mind festival food stalls, game booths and odori (dances), and all of these will be on hand at Hello Kitty's indoor amusement park Sanrio Puroland from July 15 to Sept. 3.
Kids looking for something to do can head over and try their luck at pinball and spinning lottery wheels. There will be evening odori parades featuring some of the cartoon characters from the Hello Kitty series. It's recommended, though, that younger children take part in daytime odori activities.
According to organizers, it will be especially exciting when Hello Kitty transforms the venue into a wonderland of illumination featuring hundreds of thousands of LED bulbs for a special performance. (Yuki Yamauchi)
