Shimane: Gion Matsuri

Sagi-mai-Shinji or Heron Dance, designated as one of the National Important Intangible Folk Cultural Properties. Two men dressed like herons and others in traditional costumes perform the dance in tune with leisurely music of drums, pipes and bells.

Location: Yasaka-jinja Shrine, Tsuwano-cho, Shimane


Access:
JR Yamaguchi Line to Tsuwano Station, and then walk 15 min.
