Chiba: Narita Gion Matsuri

Annual Festival of the temple with a history of 300 years, featuring sobiki, a parade of 10 floats and mikoshi, and soodori, folk music and dancing performed on the floats.

Schedule & Key events:
● July 7
from 1:30 p.m.: Soodori parades along the city's main streets after ritual pray.
● July 8
from 9 a.m.: Soodori and parade of floats and mikoshi start from JR Narita Station.
● July 9
from 1 p.m.: Sobiki parades around the temple
from 4:30 p.m.: Soodori parades along the city's main streets

Location: Naritasan Shinsho-ji Temple and others, Narita, Chiba


Access:
Naritasan Shinsho-ji Temple: (1) JR Sobu Honsen Line Rapid Train "Airport Narita" to Narita Station, and then walk 10 min.; (2) Keisei Line to Keisei-Narita Station, and then walk 10 min.
