Shiga: Nagahama Hikiyama Matsuri

Festival designated as one of the National Important Intangible Cultural Properties, featuring 13 beautifully bedecked floats, on which kodomo kabuki (traditional play by boys) are performed, being exhibited daily along the streets in the city.

9:45 a.m.-8:15 p.m. Procession of four floats from the shrine to Otabisho and kodomo kabuki performance on the floats at the several sites from 7:30 p.m.: All 13 floats gather at Otabisho

Location: Nagahama Hachiman-gu Shrine and others, Nagahama, Shiga


Access:
JR Tokaido Shinkansen Line to Maibara Station. From there, take JR Hokuriku Honsen Line to Nagahama Station, and then walk 15 min.
