Hiroshima: Hi-watari Shiki

Hi-watari Shiki, rigorous religious practice of walking on burnt charcoals in the temple's ground.

Location: Daisho'in Temple, Miyajima-cho, Hatsukaichi, Hiroshima


Access:
(1) JR Sanyo Honsen Line to Miyajima-guchi Station, and then walk 5 min. to Miyajima-guchi Pier. From there, take ferryboat to Miyajima Pier (10 min.), and then walk 30 min.; (2) JR Sanyo Shinkansen Line to Hiroshima Station, and then take streetcar or bus to Hiroshima Ujina Port (30 min.). From there, take hydrofoil to Miyajima Pier (22 min.), and then walk 30 min.
