This year is the 10th anniversary of Mitsui Memorial Museum and the 50th anniversary of its original name, Mitsui Bunko. Mitsui Bunko museum was established in 1965 by the Mitsui Group, one of the world's largest corporate groups, and became known as Mitsui Memorial Museum after its relocation in 2005.

To celebrate it longevity, the museum is holding a special exhibition of Mitsui family treasures. These include tea utensils, historical texts, paintings, katana swords, postal stamps and documents, many of which are either National Treasures or Important Cultural Properties.
