Pop singer and fashion model Kyary Pamyu Pamyu gave a special live performance Saturday as part of a Japan Day event at the food-themed Expo Milano.

The singer, an icon of Japan's kawaii (cute) culture, performed "Ninja Re Bang Bang" and "Tsukema Tsukeru," drawing cheers from the audience. Saying "grazie," Italian for "thank you," she said she would visit Italy again for a solo live performance.

The Yoshida Brothers, a duo playing the Tsugaru shamisen, and calligrapher Sisyu also gave performances at the Japan Day event.

A 25-year-old Italian woman, a fan of Kyary Pamyu Pamyu, said she came to the expo just for the singer's live performance, calling her "cute."
