You have to wonder whether the vein of vampire stories will ever be sucked dry, and yet the blood just keeps on flowing with the release of “Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign” from Viz.

In this take on the theme, a virus has conveniently wiped out most humans over the age of 13 and vampires have risen from the shadows to harvest the blood of the surviving children, including the young Yuichiro Hyakuya, a loner who has vowed to kill every last one of his blood-sucking overlords. To defeat the vampires, however, he must join the ranks of the elite Moon Demon Company, which is the last thing he wants to do.

While “Seraph of the End” is fairly standard vampire fare, Yuichiro’s mysterious connection to his enemy should satisfy the hunger of many fans of the genre.
