Idol group Momoiro Clover Z has been selected by Lady Gaga to be the opening act for one of her Japanese performances next month.

The pop star's "ArtRave: The Artpop Ball" tour is set to hit QVC Marine Field in Chiba on Aug. 13 and 14. Momoiro Clover Z will perform the second day, with American artist Lady Starlight opening the shows on both days.

For her tour dates in North America, Lady Gaga is using two Japanese artists and one Korean girl group as opening acts. Vocaloid character Hatsune Miku was opening act for 14 dates in May and June, while South Korea's Crayon Pop is opening shows through this month. Heavy-metal idol group Babymetal will open its first ArtRave show on July 30 in Phoenix.

Concert promoter Live Nation Japan told Oricon Style , "Gaga is personally interested in Japanese artists. We decided to ask Momoiro Clover Z, after going back and forth between the artists that she likes and the artists that we chose."
