In today's world, cultural exchange has become increasingly important — and fun.

The nation's biggest Indian festival will do its part for cultural exchange as it marks its 21st edition this weekend. The event is sponsored by the Society to Promote India-Japan Cultural Relations.

Visitors will be able to immerse themselves in many facets of Indian society and culture by way of the stands that will be positioned around Yoyogi Park, each focusing on a certain aspect of Indian culture. Some offerings include traditional Indian cuisine and clothing, which will be available for purchase. Other booths will focus on information and the presentation of Indian-style dance, music, film, henna art and more.

Also featured will be booths related to Indian tourism. A lottery event will be held with a grand prize of a round trip to India. At the seminar house in Yoyogi event square, lectures and in-depth workshops detailing specific tradition will focus on themes such as ethnic peoples and the practice of yoga.

Namaste India Festival will take place at Yoyogi Park in Tokyo on Sept. 28 (10 a.m. till 8 p.m.) and 29 (10 a.m. till 7:30 p.m.). For more information, visit www.indofestival.com.
