by Natasha Vik

Staff Writer

For its latest exhibition, the Kyoto City University of Arts Gallery is showcasing works by five of the university’s conceptual design graduates. Through a variety of media — including photography, animation, computer graphics and installations — the show explores the notion of whether art can be “just art,” and how it can be defined by other factors, such as our senses, or social and historical influences.

The artists, who each present his or her own interpretation of “art,” are Zon Ito, Ayano Sudo, Akira Nihei, Makiko Yamamoto and Andreas Kressig; till July 15.
