Clint Eastwood's protege Robert Lorenz is in the director's chair for this father-daughter story of love and baseball. Eastwood plays a cantankerous scout still in thrall to the old ways of grooming sports stars. His daughter (Amy Adams) once sat in the bleachers with her dad, and secretly cherishes their days on the road. No depth here, but sheer delight from start to finish. Watch for the scene when Adams turns a cartwheel near second base.
