“A painting is not something one should keep to oneself,” explains the mural artist Genichiro Inokuma. “It should bring joy and inspiration to as many people as possible.” This suits the recovery of a hidden mural by Inokuma that had been hidden for years in the Fujita Kyoto hotel, which was to be destroyed after it closed in 2011.

The recovered panel, called “Fluid City,” will be displayed at the Marugame Genichiro-Inokuma Museum of Contemporary Art along with other murals from Inokuma, providing an overview of the artist’s work; April 13-June 23.
