Film director Pedro Costa and sculptor Rui Chafes are two of Portugal’s most prominent and internationally respected artists.
Costa often delivers a distinctively apocalyptic worldview, which he presents through uncharacteristically serene and aesthetic visuals. His distinct style has won him professional acclaim worldwide. Chafes primarily uses iron as the medium for his sculptures and has represented Portugal at several art festivals including the Venice Biennale and the Sao Paulo Biennale.
This exhibition brings the two artists together in a collaboration that comprises five film installations and five sculptures; Dec. 7-March 10.
