“Western Style Painting in Japan from the Collection of Hyogo Prefectural Museum of Art”

With a focus on Kansai artists of the Meiji (1868-1912), Taisho (1912-26) and Showa Era (1926-1989), this collection of yōga — paintings by Japanese artists using Western techniques and conventions — showcases works on loan from the Hyogo Prefectural Museum of Art.

Master painters, including Ryohei Koiso, Ryusei Kishida and Sotaro Yasui, are represented within the selection of artworks that traces the history of modern Japanese yōga; till March 11.
