To celebrate the recent donations to it of works from three important art collections, Nezu Museum is holding an exhibition of Chinese ceramics, lacquerware and a bronzeware.
The Fujisaki Collection offers a range of ceramics, including jars and vases, featuring decorative designs from different periods. The Nagata Collection presents carved lacquerware samples from the Song Dynasty (960-1279), a period famous for unique designs and colorful layers. Other lacquerware styles such as mother-of-pearl inlaid work are also on show.
The new bronzeware work is a rare 12th-century cup and stand donated by world-renowned bronze specialist, Sammy Yukuan Lee.
In total, 82 Chinese works covering the Tang to Qing dynasties will be on show; till Dec. 25.
