The second annual PhotoFest Japan will be held this weekend at Yokohama Country and Athletic Club. The first PhotoFest was held in 2010. According to the event organizers, HobbyLink Japan, there was a lot of positive feedback from last year's event.
Don't worry if you're just starting out because the event is open to all levels of photographers, from beginners to professionals. The sessions will be conducted entirely in English by three expert shutterbugs: Alfie Goodrich, Sean Mooney and Raul Suarez Figueroa.
The three-day workshop will include both indoor and outdoor activities. As the second-largest metropolitan area in Japan, and one of the country's oldest and biggest ports, Yokohama boasts plenty of good sights to snap for the outdoor session of the workshop. As for the indoor session, participants will get the chance to learn about studio lightning, portraiture and the digital darkroom.
The event includes a reception, cash bar and photo contest, whose winner will be announced on the last day of the workshop. Those taking part will also get the chance to walk away with some really nice prizes, including a 10-hour course in photography lessons from one of the aforementioned professional photographers.
The PhotoFest is a great opportunity for budding artists out there who want to make something more out of their hobby and gain more expertise as a serious photographer.
