Passionate Caribbean sounds are sure to excite those who choose to attend "Haiti Passion and Music: All Stars from a Musical Paradise," a series of concerts that are to be held in major cities across Japan until Sept. 8.

Ten musicians from Haiti will feature such styles as French-Caribbean konpa, a Haitian mix of tropical sounds with jazz, rock and R&B.

The artists were selected by Mini Records, a Miami-based record company that specializes in Haitian music, and the tour has been organized by the Min-On Music Association.

Concerts will be at Ueda Shimin Kaikan in Ueda, Nagano Pref. on Aug. 23; Ishikawa Koseinenkin Kaikan in Ishikawa Pref. on Aug. 24; Kobe Kokusai Kaikan in Kobe on Aug. 25; Shunanshi Bunka Kaikan in Yamaguchi Pref. on Aug. 26; Utsunomiyashi Watanabeou Kinenkaikan in Tochigi Pref. on Aug. 27; Fukuoka Sun Palace Hotel and Hall in Fukuoka on Aug. 28; Osaka Koseinenkin Kaikan on Sept. 1; Kochikenmin Bunka Hall in Kochi Pref. on Sept. 2; Chukyo Daigaku Bunka Shimin Kaikan in Nagoya on Sept. 3; Iwaki Geijyutubunka Koryukan in Fukushima Pref. on Sept. 6; and Sendai Sun Plaza Hall in Sendai on Sept. 8.
