In which a group of Guatemalan prostitutes who form a soccer team in an attempt to draw public attention to their plight — you know, abuses, murders, etc. The 12 members work in the capital’s ghetto area beside a railroad selling sex for about $2 a time. Though the team faces discrimination, they eventually find a sponsor — and fans. The girls laugh lots and speak frankly about sex, but their life stories are devastatingly tragic. With humor and blasts of Latin music, the film successfully stands up for their rights without being overbearing.
