Yet another animated- penguin movie — except this time the cute critters are on surfboards. Cody (voiced by Shia LaBeouf), a young surfer penguin, heads to tropical Pen Gu Island to compete in the surfing world cup, where Tank (Diedrich Bader), the reigning titleholder, awaits. Told in a faux-documentary style with talking-head interviews, this family flick is about how winning is not everything. The visuals are impressive, especially the texture and transparency of the waves, which seem so real that you can almost feel the splash.
